About Us

The Red Envelope Giving Circle (REGC) is committed to creating positive social change in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area through philanthropic support to Asian and Pacific Islander LGBTQ-led projects to improve the lives of API LGBTQ people and communities.
Giving Circle? How does it work?
REGC is a member of the National Giving Circle Network of Asian Americans/ Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy (AAPIP), a philanthropic advocacy organization dedicated to advancing philanthropy and Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.

“A giving circle is a group of volunteers raising, pooling and granting money together. This allows us for a wide range of giving styles, philosophy and values. Some giving circle members just donate money while others volunteer their time, skills and expertise in the organizations their giving circle funds. Giving circles also provide social networks, leadership development, peer support and learning among its members.” [http://www.aapip.org/givingcircles]

Inspired by the Giving Circle movement, REGC was founded to by queer APIs to pool our own money and gift it to those organizations or groups who create positive change in the San Francisco Bay area.

Very simply, we leverage our own resources to help create change!
Founder's Vision

The Red Envelope Giving Circle (REGC) was established to:

    • Build an ongoing legacy of giving back to our own community.
    • Educate and promote community-based philanthropy with intentional impact
    • Support projects (individuals and organizations) that use the tools of politics, art, culture, and education to raise awareness and catalyze action around critical issues that serve API LGBTQ communities.
